For many years I have collected Nicholas Mosse ceramics, ever since my first visit to the old studio and shop in Bennetsbridge a long time ago. The spongeware and old world style attracted me, friends and family and we've been back many times. We've also made many online purchases over the years and still buy replacement pieces as needed. I'm proud to have many pieces in patterns and designs that have long since gone out of production.

Nicholas Mosse Pottery was established by Nicholas Mosse in 1976 after periods of training in England and Japan. His mission was to produce beautiful, functional pottery in the style of Irish Spongeware. Irish spongeware was the traditional pottery of Ireland used in the 18th Century. It was mainly made in simple honest shapes with a decoration applied with a cut sponge.
