Bowls Made for Sharing
At Nicholas Mosse, this is one of our favourite times of year. Our handcrafted bowls are made for days like these - big leafy salads, juicy tomatoes, fresh herbs, and all the colours of the season. Whether it’s a “tossed-together” weekday dinner or a big celebratory spread, everything tastes better when it’s served from a bowl made with love.
Each piece is handcrafted in our Irish workshop, rich with charm and character - ready to turn even the simplest salad into something special, adding beauty, warmth, and a touch of everyday magic to your table.
A Classic Touch: Julia Child’s French Dressing
A great salad deserves a great dressing. This classic French vinaigrette, made famous by Julia Child, is as simple, timeless, and full of flavour—and it couldn’t be easier to make.
Julia’s French Dressing
- 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon wine vinegar or lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3–4 tablespoons good quality extra virgin olive oil
Add all the ingredients to a jar, screw the lid on tight, and give it a good shake until the dressing is smooth and slightly thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Tip: Drizzle lightly over your salad and toss gently with clean hands - this helps coat each leaf evenly without bruising.
