THE SHOP & CAFE
The Nicholas Mosse Irish Country Shop has been created to offer the ultimate shopping experience to the pottery’s many fans: a complete range of every shape and pattern we create sits side by side with loads of bargain priced ‘seconds quality’ pottery. We are also famous for our special discount table which changes constantly and is always worth a look.
The entire Nicholas Mosse textile range is here and is complimented by loads of different styles of glassware to complete the look. We also stock Irish woolens, and amusing, stylish and smart home accessories and gifts for everyone on your gift list, from baby Lilly to granny Kate, and even some nice bits for Uncle Fred.
RELAX
The shop, in an old stone mill, dominates the River Nore in Bennettsbridge, a pretty little town just south of Kilkenny City and only two minutes from the new M9 motorway, exit 9. We have easy, free parking and if you’re lucky, our gaggle of geese might call out a welcome to you.
For the curious, we have an entire room dedicated to the history of the Mill, the area and the pottery, plus viewing windows to watch our potters when they’re working. Overlooking the River Nore, our café will lure you up to the next floor for its terrific tea, coffee, scones and light lunches.
We pride ourselves on using simple local ingredients: our cousin is in the mill across the river grinding the flour for our wholemeal bread - truly local! We have wonderful staff who will help you with any request, whether it’s shipping, gift wrap, or finding the right and perfect present.
